Ms. Barbara Ann Brown Traylor

Barbara Brown Traylor, 87 years old, joined her Heavenly Father on February 17, 2026 at her home surrounded by family and her special caregivers. Death is not the last word. The eternal God sent His Eternal Son into the world so that I might have a piece of Eternal Heaven with Him! Praise be to God! Barbara Traylor was born on August 15, 1938 to Granville Ayers Brown and Laura White Brown in Guntersville, Alabama. Barbara was a 1956 graduate of Arab High School where she was the Drum Majorette for the band. After she graduated, she went to work at Redstone Arsenal. Afterwards, she worked part-time as a bank teller and an administrative assistant at Brindlee Mountain Telephone Company and DeltaCom. Barbara was a woman of great Faith. She was a lifelong member of the Arab First United Methodist Church and the Class of My Redeemer Sunday School class. She impacted many lives by leading and her participation in many Bible Studies. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 62 years, Garfield (Jack) Traylor, her brothers, Gaines A. Brown, Audie Earl Brown, William R. Brown, Granville A. Brown, Junior and her sister, Kathryn Brown Ogletree. She is survived by her son, Christopher Traylor (Cynthia) and her daughter, Kerri Minton (Kelvin). Barbara was also survived by her grandchildren: Laura Liebner (Clayton), Alicia Gilbert (Jason) and Elizabeth Lackey (Sean). Barbara leaves behind 3 cherished great grandchildren: Charles, Jackson and Madelinne Liebner. The family wishes to express their deep and sincere gratitude to Barbara's caregivers, both current and past. Mitzi Marbry, Sunny Johnson, Barbara Bright and Wanda Robinson. With them, we were able to keep mom in her home and allowed her to be with us for a longer time. Barbara’s family will gather with friends to remember her earthly life and celebrate her new life in the presence of Christ. The family will receive friends with a visitation at Arab First United Methodist Church on Tuesday, February 24th at 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Henry Prater and Pastor Steve West officiating. Immediately following the service, her burial will take place at Arab Memorial Cemetery. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel is assisting with arrangements. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Arab First United Methodist Church.
