Mr Edgar "Carl" Carlee Goss

Mr. Edgar “Carl” Carlee Goss, age 82, of the Union Grove community of Marshall County passed away Tuesday June 30, 2026 at Marshall Medical North. Carl was born in Oneonta, AL on October 14, 1943, one of six children born to Eddie Marcus and Edna A. Hyde Goss. He and Rieda Hollingsworth Goss have been married for over 44 years and created a warm and loving home for their family. Before moving to Union Grove in 2008, Carl and Rieda live in Carthage, MS. Carl was a man who loved to work. This was apparent in that he retired 5 times yet found another job because he loved construction work. He had an exciting and varied work career, he managed a mobile home manufacturing plant and retail lot, moved and set up mobile homes and could do anything that was needed on them. He also worked as a construction foreman for the State Prison Systems in Georgia, Texas and Arizona. He loved to work in his yard and at one time was the caretaker of New Friendship Cemetery. He enjoyed watching Fox News and GRIT TV. His greatest love and dedication were for his family. His beloved wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride, joy and the apple of his eye. Family members Carl leaves behind to carry on his legacy include his wife, Rieda Goss; daughter, Tammy Goss; his son, Brad (Leann) Goss; his grandchildren, Randy (Amber) Williams, Kayla (Hunter) Gillilan, Luke (Lauren) Goss, Teagan (Tyler) Fricks; his great-grandchildren, Reid Williams, Lily Gillilan, Mason Goss, Raelee Fricks; and a brother-in-law Doyle Brothers. Carl is preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Marcus and Edna A. Goss; his sisters, Mary Sue Brothers, Gladys Ruth Goss his brothers, Joseph Goss, Ralph Goss, Glenn Goss. The family will follow Carl’s wishes to be cremated. A time of sharing with the family for Carl will be at New Friendship Baptist Church located at 2150 New Friendship Rd, Union Grove, AL 35175. Family, friends and guests will gather for a memorial visitation time at the church on Thursday July 2, 2026 between the hours of 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm. Brother Danny Brothers and Randy Campbell will be officiating. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel is honored to assist the family the arrangements during this difficult time.
