Geneva Eubanks

Geneva Eubanks, 75 of the Scant City Area, Arab died Wednesday, December 5, 2012 in Huntsville Hospital. Mrs. Eubanks was born in Marshall County July 12, 1937 the daughter of John Elige Fortenberry and Annie Minervia Folsom Fortenberry. She was a high school and a college graduate. She and her family have lived in the Arab area since 1963. She and husband, John Milton Eubanks have been married for 53 years. She was a retired Eaton worker; enjoyed collecting dolls, dishes (the white milk glass type), gardening and working in her flowers. She was a devoted member of New Friendship Baptist Church and a member of the New Friendship Home Makers Club. Geneva is survived by her husband: John Milton Eubanks of Arab; a daughter and son-in-law: Theresa and Dennis Brasher of Arab; daughter-in-law: Penny Eubanks; four grandchildren: Brittany Lemons, Jennifier Blair (Matt), Collin Brasher and Alyssa Brasher; two great grandchildren: Taylor Michelle Lemons and Samantha Jayne Blair; six brothers and sisters-in-law: Robert and Sandra Fortenberry, Paul and Katy Fortenberry, Andrew Fortenberry and James Fortenberry all of Guntersville, Jasper and Carol Fortenberry of Louisiana and Jerry and Pat Fortenberry of Albertville; four sisters: Dimple Fay and Ted Rives of Arab, Gladys and Verbon Farmer of Albertville, Lilly and Ron Pack of Guntersville and Katie and Larry Stoner also of Guntersville; two sisters-in-law: June Fortenberry of Illinois and Audrey Reeves of Birmingham and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family and many dear friends; preceded in death by a son: Phillip Keith Eubanks, her parents: John Elige and Annie Minervia Folsom Fortenberry, a brother: Donald Elige Fortenberry, brother-in-law: Ray Eubanks and sister-in-law: Norma Cash. Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012 at New Friendship Baptist Church, with eulogy by Collin Brashers; Brother Jerald Adams and Brother Aaron Farrow, officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery, Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing. Pallbearers will be Matthew, Blair, Collin Brashers, Don Farmer, Kenny Fortenberry, Randy Rives and Roger Rives. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2012 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. She will also Lie-In-State at the Church from 2 to 3 p.m. on the day of the service. In Lieu of Flowers the family suggests memorial donations to Hospice of Marshall County Shepherd's Cove, 408 Martling Road; Albertville, AL 35951.
