Mary Ruth Blocker

Mary Ruth Blocker, 80 of Tennessee, formerly of the Hulaco Community died Saturday, March 23, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Blocker was born March 15, 1933 in Morgan County the daughter of Zack and Gracie M. Key Barnett. She was an assembly worker, retired from Dana Company. She was also a life long resident of the Hulaco Community until recently when she moved to Tennessee to live with family there. She was of the Pentecostal Faith and a member of Barnett’s Chapel. She is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law: Cecil Ray and Tammy Blocker of Tennessee, Charles Perry and Patricia Blocker of Hulaco, Carl Eddie and Angela Blocker of Baileyton, Prentice and Carrie Blocker of Arab and Darren and Tina Blocker of Hulaco; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren; five brothers and sisters-in-law: James "Buddy" Barnett of Somerville, Zack, Jr. and Patricia Barnett of Lacey's Spring, David Barnett, Earl and Sandra Barnett and Rayburn and Sandra Barnett all of Somerville; three sisters and brother-in-law: Lucille and Hoyt Brown of Somerville, Helen Bailey of Brooksville and Anne Barnett of Falkville; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and many dear friends; preceded in death by her husband: Charles Henry Blocker, a son: Larry Wayne Blocker; her parents: Zack and Gracie Barnett, four brothers: Charles Barnett, William Barnett, Jimmy Barnett and Rebe Barnett and a sister: Tempie Frazier. Funeral Service will be 12 Noon Monday, March 25, 2013 at Barnett’s Chapel Pentecostal Church, Somerville, Reverend Ray Gray, officiating. Burial will be in Blue Springs Cemetery, Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing. Pallbearers will be Daniel Blocker, Jason Blocker, Jeremy Blocker, John Blocker, Justin Blocker and Tristen Blocker. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at 12 Noon at Barnett's Chapel Pentecostal Church located at 873 Barnett Chapel Road, Somerville, AL 35670.
