Nancy Carol Gibson Taylor, 72 of Arab died Tuesday, January 28, 2014 in Huntsville Hospital. In Lieu of Flowers the Family has suggested memorial donations in memory of Nancy be make to Arab First United Methodist Church, Christmas and Beyond, Post Office Box 470; Arab, AL 35016 – OR TO – Arab Rotary Club, Post Office Box 87; Arab, AL 35016 Mrs. Taylor was born August 29, 1941 in Marshall County, the daughter of William E. and Evelene Gibson. She grew up in the Union Grove area and later moved to Arab. She was a high school and college graduate; she and her husband, Earl had been married for 54 years. She was a devoted member of Arab First United Methodist Church and active with the United Methodist Women; the Sunday School Class of Our Redeemer and was on several church committees. She was awarded Arab's Outstanding Citizen of the Year in 2007 and she and her husband, Earl were awarded the Humanitarian of the Year award in 2005. She is survived by her husband: Earl Taylor; two daughters and sons-in-law: Teresa Taylor Snider (John), Pamela Taylor Cooper (Tate); three grandchildren: Dr. Taylor Nicholas Snider, Emily Francis Snider and Nathaniel Tate Cooper; two brothers and sisters-in-law: W. E. "Bill" and Regina Gibson and Roger and Joan Gibson; a sister and brother-in-law: Vickie Gibson Brown (Eddie); several nieces, nephews, other family members, her church family and many dear friends; preceded in death by her parents: William E. and Evelene L. Gibson and a sister: Linda Gibson Gibbs. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2014 at Arab First United Methodist Church, Reverend Kenny Baskins and Reverend Robert Sparkman, officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove First Baptist Church Cemetery, Union Grove, Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. She will also Lie-In-State at the Church from 10 to 11 a.m. on the day of the service.
