Mrs. Brenda Shumate Brown

March 11, 1953 - April 10, 2022

Mrs. Brenda Shumate Brown of Lacey Springs, the Union Hill Community, of Morgan County, Alabama passed away at Crestwood Hospital on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at the age of 69. Mrs. Brown was born to Johnny Lewis Shumate and Thelma Wright Shumate on March 11, 1953 in Marshall County, Alabama. Mrs. Brown worked in the insurance field as a Customer Service representative. Her interest included the game of softball, singing, and participating in the song service of her church. Her greatest love was of her family and especially treasured her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Brown leaves behind memories to be cherished by her husband, Jackie D. Brown; son, Michael Heath Brown (Chance Fairchild); brothers, Bud Shumate (Margene), Garland Shumate (Kim), James Shumate and Lynn Shumate; sister, Carolyn Shumate Sheppard; grandchildren, Aulden Adams (Rylee Benefield), Damion Brown; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brown is at last reunited with her; daughter, Jackie Dale Brown Adams; parents, Johnny and Thelma Shumate; and brother, Lewis Shumate. A visitation will be held at Brindlee Mountain Heritage Chapel at Morgan City on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will take place at the Brindlee Mountain Chapel on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with Coy Morrow and Jonathan Brown, officiating. Interment is to immediately follow services at Union Grove Cemetery, Lacey Springs, Morgan County. Pallbearers: Bodie Adams, Jonathan Brown, Chris West, Jeff Shumate, Shannon Shumate, and Hunter Ragsdale. Honorary Pallbearer: Dustin Maze. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
