February 1, 1938 - June 28, 2021
Edna Hazel Terrell, 83 of Morgan City, reached the glory land on June 28th, 2021. She was born February 1st, 1938 in Morgan City to Jessie and Mary Tyler. Grandma's whole life was about giving to others. She lived her life as a servant. Not just to God, but to her family and anyone she ever met. At a young age, she lost her mother and she became her brother's keeper and raised them. She helped her daughter raise her grandchildren as a single mother and she was an active great grandmother to all our kids. Grandma searched for the lost and she gave with her whole heart. She welcomed and loved everyone that she ever met and without judgment. Her love for God was so pure and so real. She did not just teach of the bible but she lived it. To us, she lived it without flaw. Who she was in public is exactly who she was behind closed doors. She gave us all a lifetime of memories, lessons, and so much love to hold onto. We all knew what unconditional love was because we were all loved by her. She is survived by her daughter: Janice Phillips; brothers: Richard, David, and Oliver Tyler; Granddaughters: Markita (Eric) Ford; Jennifer (Jeremy) Campbell; Grandsons: Robbie Phillips; Omar (Laura) Phillips; 12 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was welcomed home by her Savior Jesus Christ; parents: Jessie and Mary Tyler; siblings: Opal Mooneyham; Linda Gail Murphy; Raymond Tyler; Howard Tyler; Delbert Tyler; and Reba Tyler, as well as several great-grandbabies. Visitation will be Saturday, July 3, 2021, from 9 am -11 am at Arab Memorial Chapel with services at 11 am officiated by Omar Phillips. Graveside at Union Grove Cemetery in Morgan City. Pallbearers are Robbie Phillips; Justin Terwilliger; Ben Walker; Larry Walker; Charlie Walker; Alex Berry; Zach Turner. In place of flowers, we are asking for donations to the Grandma Hazel Terrell back 2 school fund at Redstone Federal Credit Union. Growing up in a low-income family, our grandmother always bought our school clothes every year. In her memory, we would like to honor her by helping buy school clothes for at least 1 family in the Arab School District a year. This will be our Grandma's Legacy of Love.
