Mr. Jay Carlton John Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mr. Jay Carlton John of the Union Hill Community in Lacey’s Spring, Alabama; passed away in the early hours of Monday – February 21, 2022 at the age of 75 years. Mr. John was born on June 10, 1946 in Richmond, California to the late Mary Priscilla Burgett. Mr. John was a retired Machine Operator for General Motors. He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War with the United States Army. He was a member of the Morgan City Church of God. Mr. John enjoyed Fishing, reading, studying the bible and scripture, cracking jokes and telling stories, gardening, he loved roses and birds, he was also an Alabama football fan, but deep down in his heart, he was a big Original Arkansas Razorback fan. Mr. John leaves behind to cherish his memories; beloved wife of 48 years, Jolene J. John; son, Stephen Matthew John, daughters, Jaylene Hanners (Michael) and Jessica Rochelle John; grandchildren, Erin Hanners and Devin John. Mr. Jay C. John will lie-in-state on Wednesday – February 23, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Morgan City Church of God with funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Roland Cornwell, officiating. Interment is to follow services immediately at Rescue Cemetery in Union Grove, Alabama Pallbearers escorting Mr. John to his final resting place will be: Jeff Elmore, Alan Crouch, Jimmy Cook, Kevin Hardin, David Parsons and John Allen Edwards. Honorary Pallbearers will include: M.C. Reliford, Donald Goodwin, James Ary and Donnie Moore. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
