Ms. LaVerne Vest Power, age 81, of Montgomery, Alabama, passed this life on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at her residence. Ms. Power was born in Marshall County on November 8, 1938 to the late Lenard “Pete” Houston Vest and Lola Angie Scott Vest. LaVerne soon earned her Master’s Degree years after graduating high school and retired from the accounting department at International Paper Company. She enjoyed many activities like; entertaining her family, quilting, sewing, crocheting, and gardening. Ms. Power is survived by her sons, Mark Alan Power (Susan) and Andrew Power (Melody); daughter, Cynthia Power; grandchildren, Daniel Sparkman (Abby), Sean Power, Matthew Power, Matthew Hubert, George Power and Olivia Power; great grandchildren; Daniel “Dane” Sparkman Jr. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Geneva Noyes. Funeral services for Ms. Power will be held on Monday, February 10, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. with visitation prior to the service beginning at 12:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Arab Memorial Cemetery, Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.
