Mrs. Margie Sanders DeArmond

May 23, 1936 - June 19, 2021

Margie Sanders DeArmond, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 19, 2021. She is survived by her children Kenna DeArmond Tomberlin (Tim), Kim DeArmond Chiselko (Kevin), and Susan DeArmond; grandchildren Kayce Tomberlin Rittman (Brady), Clark Tomberlin (Jenna), Carter Chiselko, Cole Chiselko, Connor Chiselko (Kelley), Emily Smith Pearson (Josh), and Allison Smith; and great-grandchildren McKenleigh Rittman, Ellie Rittman, and Dean Fox Tomberlin. She is also survived by sisters Catherine Edwards (Ed), Pat Wyatt (Fred), and brother-in-law, Robert Earl DeArmond (Charlotte) and hosts of beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents Dock and Ruby Sanders, her husband of 50 happy years Kenneth DeArmond, brothers Eugene (Betty) and Emmett (Dorothy) Sanders, and sister-in-law Virginia DeArmond Chandler (Orman). Margie was born May 23, 1936, in Madison County, AL, the fourth of five children, and worked as a Logistics Specialist at Army Missile Command at the Redstone Arsenal for 31 years. A devoted Christian lady with strong faith in the Lord, she was a longtime member of the Arab Church of Christ who fully exemplified the fruits of the spirit: love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Margie was known affectionately as “Nana” by all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved her family deeply; they will miss her dearly. Pallbearers will be Clark Tomberlin, Carter Chiselko, Cole Chiselko, Connor Chiselko, Brady Rittman, Josh Pearson, Kevin Chiselko, and Tim Tomberlin. A Celebration of Life will be held at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel on Friday, June 25, 2021, with visitation from 9:30-11:00 a.m. and service immediately after. Interment: Brookwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Arab Church of Christ, P.O. Box 376, Arab, AL 35016. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, Directing
