Mr. Richard Vernon Tyler of Arab, Alabama passed away at his residence Monday, April 25, 2022 at the age of 86 and under the care of Shepherd’s Cove Hospice. Mr. Tyler was born on April 5, 1936 in Morgan County, Alabama to Jesse William and Mary Davidson Tyler. Mr. Tyler did his duty serving in the US Army. He retired from Wolverine Tube in Decatur, Alabama where he worked as a machinist. Richard enjoyed gardening, taking care of his lawn and property, and spent time relaxing by watching TV. Mr. Tyler is survived by his wife of 38 years Opal Luciele Lewis Tyler; one son, Stanley Tyler (Dee); two daughters, Lisa Tyler Carrillo (Tony) and Christina Tyler Boeckmann (Bart); two brothers, David Tyler (Louise) and Oliver Tyler; 7 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Mr. Tyler was preceded in death by his parents Jesse William and Mary Davidson Tyler; two brothers, Jesse Howard Tyler and Delbert Carlton Tyler; three sisters, Edna Hazel Terrell, Linda Murphree, and Euna Opal Mooneyham. Graveside services and interment will be Thursday, April 28, 2022 at the Union Grove Cemetery at Morgan City with Bro. Randy Blakely officiating. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
