Mrs. Ruby Bell Neel Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ruby Bell Howell Neel, age 100, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022 at Albertville Nursing Home and Rehab Center, Albertville, Alabama. Ruby was born February 6, 1922 in Pace City, Mississippi to Elzie Verster Howell and Mary Emma Ludie Kukendall Howell. Ruby has been a resident of Arab, Alabama since 1956 relocating from Mississippi. She worked in central supply in health care/hospital management. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening/growing plants and lawn care. Her biggest delight was raising her children and grandchildren. Ms. Neel is survived by her son, Michael Neel (Sherry); grandchildren, Jackie Elaine Mills Maddux, Paula Mills Lemons (Lynn), Rebecca Neel, Catherine Neel; 7 great grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Ms. Neel was preceded in death by her husband, Mack C. Neel (DOD 1978); parents, Elzie and Mary Emma Howell; son, Thomas Elsie Parkerson; daughters, Bonnie Faye Parkerson, Mildred Pauline Parkerson Mills; grandchildren, Shiela Mills Walker, Wayne Mills, Derek Neel; 2 brothers and 3 sisters. The funeral service for Ms. Neel will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel in Arab, Alabama. The visitation will be at the Chapel from 12:00 p.m. until the service starts at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Brookwood Cemetery, Arab, Alabama. Brother Michael King will officiate. Escorting Ruby to her final resting place will Evan Diamond, Jack Mills, Lynn Lemons, Troy Richards, Thomas Maddux, Chad Richards, and Daniel Dyess. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
