Mr. Thomas Earl Goens

March 29, 1941 - April 6, 2022

Mr. Thomas Earl Goens of the Strawberry Community in Arab, Alabama; transitioned and entered the Gates of Heaven on the morning of Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at the age of 81 years. Mr. Goens was born to William Floyd Goens, Sr. and Lillian Brown Goens on March 29, 1941 in Marshall County, Alabama. Mr. Goens owned and operated T & J Machine Shop in Arab, Alabama. Mr. Goens was a member of Gilliam Springs Baptist Church but attended the Bread of Life Church of God in Holly Pond. He loved tinkering with computers and loved reading. Mr. Goens leaves behind memories to be cherished by his wife Patricia “Pat” Sindle-Goens. Son, Christopher Thomas Goens (Brandy); step-son, Randall Floyd Pearson (Lori); step-daughters, Missy Banks (Keith) and Deidra O’Neil (Josh); brothers, Ernest Edward Goens and Ronnie Doyle Goens; sister, Linda Bonner; grandchildren, Logan Chase Goens, Kyler Chance Goens, Michael Steven Thomas Goens; 8 step grandchildren, 17 step great grandchildren and 2 step great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents William Floyd and Lillian Brown Goens. Late wife, Jo Ann Ayers Goens, brothers William Floyd Goens, Jr. and Gene Autry Goens. A visitation will be held at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel on Saturday – April 9, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Funeral service will take place at the Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel on Saturday 9, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Wayne Barnette and Pastor Keith Banks officiating, Bruce McLaughlin reading the obituary.
