Mrs. Wanda C. Easterwood

December 21, 1923 - October 16, 2021

We are saddened to announce the passing of Mrs. Wanda C. Easterwood of Baileyton, AL, who went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 16, 2021. Mrs. Easterwood was born on December 21, 1923 to the late Jessie Maude (Oliver) and William Lendon Cheatwood. She retired from the U.S Postal Service as a rural carrier working in Baileyton and Warrior during her career. She also worked many years at Blue Bell in Arab. She had met many good friends while working at the post office and Blue Bell. Wanda lived a full life at 97 years young. She always contributed her longevity to a diet of fruit and vegetables. Church and work were very important to her. She was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. She enjoyed taking her close friend Monnie to church and spending time with her church family. She loved taking vacations and cruises with friends, visiting many places. She was a provider to her family for many years and will be dearly missed by so many. Mrs. Easterwood leaves behind to celebrate and reminisce her life; son, Vance Easterwood (LouAnn); special son, Gary Cheatwood; grandchild, Russ Easterwood (Sasha); great-grandchildren, Brandon Easterwood (Haley), Noah Easterwood, Holden Easterwood; great-great grandchild, Braelin Easterwood. Mrs. Easterwood is preceded in death by her husband Norman Earl Easterwood Sr.; son, Norman Earl Easterwood Jr.; brothers, Coy Cheatwood, Edley Cheatwood; sister, Norma Garmon; grandson, Mark Easterwood. Pallbearers escorting Mrs. Easterwood to her final resting place are Gary Cheatwood, Brandon Easterwood, Jackie Bailey, Bobby Martin, Russ Easterwood and Stanley Murphree Visitation for Mrs. Easterwood will be Tuesday, October 19, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with service to immediately follow at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Bro. Jacob Moody officiating. Burial will be at Baileyton cemetery. Family will accept flowers or donations to Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, Directing.
