Mrs. Linda Louise Spangenburg

Linda L. Frank Spangenburg, 76, of Union Grove, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home on February 13, 2025. She was born to Charles Frank and Agnes Fagan on June 30, 1948, in Middletown, NY. As the youngest of eleven children, Linda was a proud daddy’s girl, cherishing her special bond with her father. Like her mother, she shared an entrepreneurial spirit, always eager to take on new hobbies and start new ventures. Linda is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Noel Spangenburg; her children, Yelta Feringa III (Sherry), Wendy Smith (Roger), and Melissa Wray (Christopher). She was preceded in death by her son, Aaron Feringa. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Jessica, Yelta IV, Aaron, and Shelby Feringa; Olivia, Elijah, and David Smith; Kellie Dozier, Kacey Hawkins, and Michael Gentry, as well as many beloved great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Juanita Dufour and Martha Conklin, and many nieces and nephews, with whom she shared a special bond. Linda’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She loved the Lord deeply and found joy in sharing the Gospel. With a generous spirit, she always put her family first, offering support in every way she could—through kindness, wisdom, or simply being present when she was needed most. Never one to mince words, she was honest and direct, yet fiercely protective of those she loved. She had a competitive streak and enjoyed playing games, whether it was Mexican Train Dominoes, Skip-Bo, or her favorite online game. Quilting brought her peace, while roller coasters gave her a thrill she never outgrew. She was an avid reader and could lose herself in a good book for hours. Though she loved many things, her little yappy dogs held a special place in her heart, remaining her constant and loyal companions. Her presence was a blessing to those who knew her, and her legacy of faith, kindness, generosity, and joy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel in Arab, AL with Bro. Greg Narrell officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM. Burial will take place at Union Grove First Baptist Church Cemetery. Escorting Mrs. Spangenburg to her final resting place will be Rick Frank, Zach Woods, Christopher Wray, Michael Gentry, Roger Smith and Elijah Smith. Arrangements entrusted to Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
