Mr. Max Weaver

Mr. Maxell “Max” Hugh Weaver, age 89, an Arab, Alabama resident since 1963 (formerly from Blountsville) passed away peacefully at his home on July 31, 2023. Mr. Weaver was born on December 28, 1933 in Blount County, son of Franklin Benjamin Weaver and Johnnie Caroline Whitworth Weaver. He was a 1952 graduate of J.B. Pennington High School in Blountsville, AL. Max was fortunate to find love twice in his life. He was married to Betty Louella Morris Weaver who passed away in 1990. Max and current wife, Barbara Gail Smith Weaver, have shared 30 wonderful years together. Max was co-owner and operator of M&W Equipment, which was a supplier of equipment to service stations. After his retirement, Max enjoyed working a small cattle farm. He was a member of Arab First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Max was a special and unique individual. He was a wonderful, supportive and loving family man. His wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was always ready for an adventure. The University of Alabama lost one of its biggest supporters when Max passed away. No matter where the game was being played Max was making plans to attend. He loved travelling and has visited all 50 states. He was especially fond of the mountains, particularly the Great Smokey Mountains. Family members surviving Max, and cherishing their memories, include: wife, Gail Weaver; daughters, Susan Schuchard (Wes) and Donna Love (David); son, Michael Watson; his four grandchildren, Daniel, Justin (Megan), Leeah (Jackson) and Linzee (Jordan); his three grandchildren, two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Preceding Max in death include: 1st wife, Betty Morris Weaver; brother, Clyde Weaver; sisters, Pansey Hollis and Sue Estes. Family and friends are to gather for a visitation and funeral service on Friday, August 4, 2023 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel in Arab, AL. The visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Dr. Paul Murphy will officiate. Pallbearers will be the deacons of Arab First Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in the Royal community of Blount County. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing
