Nita Ann Hayes

Nita Hayes, age 78, entered her eternal reward and stepped into heavenly freedom on July 3, 2026. It is beautifully fitting that God granted Nita her independence just one day before the Fourth of July. After surviving rheumatic fever twice as a child, she carried the cross of lifelong health struggles with immense Christian courage and faith. Nita has now won her victory in Christ, resting safely in the arms of her Savior, completely free from the sickness, burdens, and pains of this earthly world. Nita was a woman of profound faith who loved the Lord. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend who loved her girls and grandchildren with all her heart. For many years, she found daily strength and comfort in reading her Bible. Before her health declined, Nita spent countless peaceful hours under the sun growing beautiful flowers, tending to her yard with the same grace and care she gave to her family. She also cherished life’s simple pleasures, often found happily watching Jimmy Swaggart and her favorite classic shows. Her sweet spirit and unwavering devotion left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her. While our hearts are heavy with her passing, we find deep peace in knowing Nita is finally at rest. She is resting in a place of perfect peace and comfort, surrounded by heavenly beauty where pain no longer exists. Nita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, L. D. "Rusty" Hayes, Jr.; her mother, Novel Hornsby Harden; her brother, Gary Harden; her sister, Melba Campbell, and one of her life long best friends Louise "Weezie" Parsons. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy and is survived by her devoted family: Daughters: Lisa Hayes Wrona, Sherry Hayes Smith, Beckie Hayes Hutchins, Melody Hayes Copeland (Keith), and Kimberly Hayes.Grandchildren: Elizabeth Wrona, Joshua Wrona (LeAnn), Caleb Wrona, Candace Wrona Hill (Bailey), Matthew Smith, Jacob Smith (Allison), Adam Smith (Elsie), Zacharie Hutchins, and Trevor Hutchins (Jessi).Great-Grandchildren: Elliana Smith, Hartley Wrona, Riley Smith, and Kazimer Hill.
